Photonics derives from the Greek word “phos” (light), and Greece has a long-standing tradition of excellence in the field. Founded officially in 2025, the Hellenic Photonics Society (PHOS) unites researchers, students, and professionals nationwide and abroad. Our mission is to foster scientific excellence, drive innovation, and boost the international impact of Greek photonics.
